Park Trades Center

The Park Trades Center, located at 326 W. Kalamazoo Ave in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a vibrant arts center that transformed from a manufacturing facility into a creative hub in the 1970s. It houses various artist studios and organizations, including Glass Arts Kalamazoo and the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center, offering a diverse range of artistic mediums such as blacksmithing, glassblowing, and photography. The center is a key attraction during Kalamazoo's Art Hop, a popular event celebrating local art. Originally built in the early 1900s, the building has a rich history, including a notable photo shoot with Nirvana in 1993, which produced an iconic image of Kurt Cobain used by Rolling Stone magazine.
