Big Tex at Fair Park

Big Tex is a 55-foot tall icon that has represented the State Fair of Texas since its debut in 1952. The original figure was destroyed by fire on October 19, 2012; a new Big Tex was unveiled and first displayed at the 2013 State Fair. Big Tex stands on the grounds of Fair Park and is a long-running symbol of the fair and Texas culture.
