Deer Valley Rock Art Center (Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve)

The Deer Valley Rock Art Center preserves more than 1,500 petroglyphs carved into a basalt outcrop by Hohokam and other indigenous peoples and is one of the largest concentrations of rock art in the Phoenix area. The site is operated by the City of Phoenix and includes a small museum with exhibits interpreting the rock art and regional prehistory. Trails and viewing platforms allow visitors to observe petroglyph panels in situ while protecting the archaeological context. Archaeological surveys and public education programs document and interpret the site's significance within the Salt River Valley.
