Oaklawn Manor

Oaklawn Manor is a historic plantation house situated on the scenic Bayou Teche in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, near Franklin. Constructed around 1837 by Alexander Porter, the house reflects the architectural style of its era. After the Civil War, it was sold by Porter's widow, Mary Walton Porter, who could no longer manage the sugar plantation without slave labor.
