Sanders Gymnasium and Community Hall

The Sanders Gymnasium and Community Hall in Sanders, Montana, is a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1997. Built in 1940, it originated from a community effort in 1910 to create a gathering space for local residents. Designed by architect J. G. Link & Company, the building features a rustic log exterior that contrasts with its elegant interior, which includes a lofty arched ceiling and polished hardwood floors. Despite the decline of the local population and the closure of the nearby school in 1948, the hall remains a cherished venue for community events such as dances, reunions, and performances, showcasing the enduring spirit of the area's homesteaders.
