Pueblo Grande Archaeological Park

Pueblo Grande preserves a Hohokam platform mound and the remains of prehistoric irrigation canals that supplied agriculture in the Phoenix area centuries before Euro-American settlement. The museum and site interpret the Hohokam canal network and village infrastructure dating roughly from 450 to 1450 CE. Archaeological excavations at the park documented these early engineered canal systems that underlie parts of modern Phoenix.
