Institute of Texan Cultures (HemisFair '68 pavilion)

The Institute of Texan Cultures was built as the Texas Pavilion for HemisFair '68 and opened in 1968 to interpret the state's multicultural heritage. It became a component of the University of Texas at San Antonio and houses exhibitions, educational programs, and archives focused on the cultural history of Texas. The building and its collections represent a long-standing institutional effort to document and display Texas' diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
