Custom House Tower - former federal customs building

The Custom House Tower rises from Boston's 19th-century Custom House; the original Custom House dates to the mid-19th century and the tower addition was completed in 1915. Upon completion, the tower made the building Boston's tallest until 1964, and the structure served as the city's principal federal customs facility for decades. The building has since been repurposed for commercial and hospitality uses while retaining its historic exterior.
