Ellas-McKay House

The Ellas-McKay House, located at 404 North Wells Street in Clarendon, Arkansas, is a notable historic residence built in 1908 by local builder T. S. Ellas. This two-story wood-frame structure showcases the distinctive architectural features of the Queen Anne style, including a hip roof, asymmetrical massing, and decorative gables. The house features a unique clipped-gable projection and a semi-circular porch with an engaged gable dormer. In 1948, it became the home of R. J. McKay, a significant civic leader in the area. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
