Wave Organ (acoustic sculpture at the Marina)

The Wave Organ, created by engineer and artist Peter Richards and completed in 1986, is an acoustic sculpture built from reclaimed stone and a series of pipes installed in a jetty that produces sound from the motion of the bay’s waves. Located on the Marina waterfront near Fort Mason, the installation attracts photographers and videomakers who record its wave-driven sounds and scenic views of the bay.
