Cabrillo Bridge (Balboa Park)

The Cabrillo Bridge was built to provide access to the 1915 Panama-California Exposition and remains the primary approach from downtown into Balboa Park. The reinforced-concrete bridge spans the canyon between Laurel Street and Sixth Avenue and is part of the Balboa Park historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The structure has undergone multiple restorative and seismic-retrofit projects to preserve its historic appearance while supporting modern traffic.
