J. C. Lore Oyster House

The J. C. Lore Oyster House, located in Solomons, Maryland, is a historic seafood packing plant built in 1934, significant for its role in the commercial fisheries of the Patuxent River region. It showcases early-20th century architecture and has been preserved as part of the Calvert Marine Museum, which features exhibits on the oyster-processing industry. The Lore Company was a major supplier of oysters in the midwestern U.S. until it ceased operations in 1978.
