Troy (Dorsey, Maryland)

Troy, also known as Troy Hill Farm, is a historic plantation home located in Elkridge, Maryland, associated with the Dorsey family. Established in 1694, the property has a rich history, including connections to the American Revolution. The current structure, built around 1808 in the late Georgian style, features a large fieldstone basement and several outbuildings. Despite a series of modifications over the years, including a Colonial Revival style update in 1942, the house fell into neglect after the state acquired it in 1958. Today, it stands amidst a mix of office parks and wooded areas, having been listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Efforts to restore and repurpose the site continue, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
