Seward Park’s old-growth forest remnant

Seward Park occupies a 300-acre peninsula on Lake Washington and contains a remnant stand of old-growth conifer forest that predates much of Seattle’s urban development. The park’s forested areas include large Douglas firs and western redcedars and are managed for both recreation and conservation. The presence of this intact forest within city limits makes Seward Park notable among Seattle’s urban greenspaces.
