Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (formerly the Paramount Theatre)

Opened in 1928 as the Paramount Theatre, this ornate downtown theater was designed by the Chicago firm Rapp and Rapp and built in an Italian/Mediterranean style. After years of decline and a major restoration, it reopened as the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in 1984. The venue is the longtime performance home for the Oregon Symphony and hosts touring concerts, dance, and theatrical events. Its marquee and interior detailing are recognized elements of Portland’s theatrical architectural heritage.
