Chase–Leavitt Building

The Chase–Leavitt Building is a historic commercial structure located in the charming Old Port district of Portland, Maine. Completed in 1879 by architect Francis H. Fassett, this four-storey brick and granite building features a full basement and a rooftop deck, embodying the quintessential character of the area. Originally home to a wholesale grocer, it has undergone renovations, including a modern glass-enclosed staircase added in 2019. The building has housed various restaurants over the years, currently featuring Via Vecchia, making it a vibrant spot for visitors to enjoy dining in a historic setting.
