The Rocks (New Hampshire)

The Rocks Estate, also known as the John Jacob Glessner Estate, is a historic summer estate located in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, covering over 1,300 acres. Established in the 1880s by John Jacob Glessner, this estate is notable for its conservation efforts to protect the land from destructive farming practices. Although the main house built in 1883 no longer exists, several outbuildings, including a carriage house and horse barn designed by architect Hermann V. von Holst, remain intact. The estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now owned by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, which manages it for public access and preservation.
