Space Needle (1962 World's Fair)

The Space Needle was built as the theme structure for the 1962 Century 21 Exposition (the Seattle World's Fair) and opened on April 21, 1962. It rises to 605 feet (184 meters) and features an observation deck and a rotating restaurant. The tower was designed by Edward E. Carlson and John Graham and quickly became an enduring symbol of Seattle's skyline.
