Bodelwyddan Castle

Bodelwyddan Castle, located in Denbighshire, Wales, is a historic structure originally built around 1460 as a manor house. It has a rich history, having been remodeled in the early 19th century into a striking Gothic style and serving various roles, including a recuperation hospital during World War I. The castle was once home to Lowther College, a pioneering girls' school, and later became a museum and arts center, showcasing collections from prestigious institutions. Although the castle is currently closed to the public, the surrounding parkland and gardens, designed by Thomas Hayton Mawson, remain a scenic attraction. The site also features the Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel, which continues to operate independently, offering visitors a unique blend of history and hospitality.
