Deasland

Deasland was a historic homestead located in Ginninderra, now known as Gold Creek, in Canberra, Australia. Commissioned by George Harcourt in the early 1890s, it featured a six-room timber structure with verandahs and a heritage-listed brick dairy. The property was significant for its agricultural contributions, particularly under the ownership of the Curran family, who became prominent woolgrowers. Despite its rich history, Deasland was demolished in early 2022 due to asbestos contamination. The site reflects the evolution of Canberra's landscape and the impact of urban development, with Deasland Place in Fraser named in its honor.
