Howard Lodge

Howard Lodge is a historic plantation house located in north-central Howard County, Maryland, built around 1750 by Edward Dorsey. As one of the oldest plantation houses in the area, it features a larger two-story brick and stone structure with well-preserved interior finishes. The property spans approximately 15 acres and includes early 19th-century stone outbuildings. Notably, Edward Dorsey inherited seven African-American slaves from his father, John Dorsey. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in American history.
