Seattle Aquarium - waterfront building on Pier 59

The Seattle Aquarium opened in 1977 and is located on Pier 59 along Elliott Bay on the downtown waterfront. The facility specializes in marine life of the Pacific Northwest and features exhibits that include sea otters, a giant Pacific octopus, and interactive tidepool touch tanks. Its waterfront siting incorporates large viewing windows and outdoor tidepool displays that connect visitors directly to Puget Sound habitat.
