Estonian Knighthood House

The Estonian Knighthood House, located in the historic Toompea area of Tallinn, is a significant building with a rich history dating back to the 13th century when German nobles ruled Estonia. Originally serving as a meeting place for the Estonian Knighthood, the current Renaissance Revival structure was built between 1845 and 1848. After Estonia gained independence in 1920, it transitioned from a noble assembly hall to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Following Soviet occupation, it became the National Library of Estonia until 1992. Today, it houses the Estonian Academy of Arts, showcasing its evolution through various historical phases while remaining a key landmark in Tallinn's cultural landscape.
