McDonald Smith Building

The McDonald Smith Building is a heritage-listed structure located in Fremantle, Western Australia, dating back to the late 19th century during the gold rush boom. Designed by architect Herbert Nathaniel Davis in the Victorian Classical Revival style, this two-storey limestone and brick building features a rendered facade with stucco ornamentation. Originally built in 1895, it has housed various commercial enterprises over the years. Notably, remnants of an earlier cottage from around 1860 still exist at the rear. The building is recognized for its historical significance and was classified by the National Trust of Australia in 1983.
