Boston Garden demolition

The Boston Garden closed in 1995 and was demolished in 1998 after nearly five decades as Boston’s primary indoor sports arena. It had been the longtime home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins and hosted numerous championship games and boxing matches. The site redevelopment led to the construction of the adjacent FleetCenter (now TD Garden) and related transportation improvements around North Station.
