Milton (Bethesda, Maryland)

Milton, also known as the Loughborough House, is a historic home located in Bethesda, Maryland, featuring unique uncoursed granite architecture. The house includes a one-and-a-half-story section built before 1820 and a two-story addition from 1847. Visitors can explore its charming outbuildings, including a stone smokehouse and a 19th-century ice house. Once home to Nathan Loughborough, a notable figure in the early U.S. government, and later owned by agricultural economist Mordecai J. Ezekiel, Milton was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
