Melrose (Cheyney, Pennsylvania)

Melrose, also known as the Old President's House, is a historic home located on the campus of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. This vernacular stone residence features three sections, with the original part dating back to before 1785, an addition from 1807, and another from around 1850. The house, which served as the President's House from 1903 to 1968, is set on a 122-acre farm that became the foundation for the university. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
