110 Livingston Street is a historic Beaux Arts-style building in Downtown Brooklyn, originally constructed in 1926 as the headquarters for the Elks organization, featuring amenities like a pool and bowling alleys. Designed by the renowned architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, the building showcases a stunning limestone and terra cotta facade with Renaissance-revival elements. In 1940, it became the headquarters for the New York City Board of Education, gaining notoriety for its bureaucratic challenges. In 2003, it was transformed into luxury residential apartments by Two Trees Management, with modern enhancements including a trompe-l'œil mural and restored lobby, while also housing a local arts organization, ISSUE Project Room.
