16th Avenue Tiled Steps (Moraga Steps)

The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps, completed in 2005 through a community-led mosaic project by artists Aileen Barr and Colette Crutcher, consist of 163 mosaic-tiled risers that form a continuous ocean-to-sky design. The steps were built and decorated by neighborhood volunteers and remain a neighborhood art landmark and pedestrian route in the Inner Sunset. The project is documented as a successful example of community arts collaboration and public stairway beautification in San Francisco.
