City Tavern - reconstructed Revolutionary-era tavern

City Tavern is a reconstructed 18th-century tavern in Old City where the original establishment operated in the late 1700s and was frequented by Revolutionary-era figures. The recreated tavern and museum opened in 1976 as a living-history restaurant interpreting colonial-era foodways with period-inspired menus and programming. It functions as a neighborhood historic attraction within Philadelphia's Independence National Historical Park area.
