Ritz Theatre & Museum (historic African-American theater)

The Ritz Theatre was built in 1929 and originally served as a movie and vaudeville house for Jacksonville's African-American community during the era of segregation. After years of decline, the building was restored and reopened as the Ritz Theatre & Museum, dedicated to preserving and presenting African-American performing arts and cultural history. The restored auditorium and façade remain examples of early 20th-century theater architecture in Jacksonville.
