Cabrillo tide-pool benches on Point Loma

Cabrillo National Monument’s rocky intertidal benches on the Point Loma peninsula form extensive tide pools that are accessible at low tide and host diverse marine life such as sea stars, anemones, and chitons. These rocky shore platforms are used for marine biology education and public tide-pooling programs managed by the National Park Service. Visitors are routinely advised to check tide tables and park notices because the rocky benches can be slippery and are affected by strong surf.
