Woodlawn (Nashville, Tennessee)

Woodlawn is a historic house in Nashville, Tennessee, built in 1822 in English regency style. Originally the home of John Nichols and later his daughter Nancy and her husband Willoughby Williams Jr., it hosted notable figures like Sam Houston and Andrew Jackson. The house witnessed significant events, including the ransacking during the Battle of Nashville in 1864. Over the years, it changed ownership multiple times and underwent renovations, including the destruction of part of its structure for road development. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and now serves as an office after being converted from a residence.
