Hancock Manor

Hancock Manor, located at 30 Beacon Street in Boston's historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, was the opulent residence of Founding Father John Hancock. Built between 1734 and 1737 for wealthy merchant Thomas Hancock, it was renowned as the finest house in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, featuring a grand three-story granite structure with intricate architectural details and expansive gardens. The Manor served as a social hub during the American Revolution, hosting notable figures such as George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette. Despite suffering some damage during British occupation, the house remained a symbol of colonial wealth and influence, reflecting the lifestyle of Boston's elite in the 18th century.
