Rideau Skating Rink

The Rideau Skating Rink, located in Ottawa, Ontario, was one of Canada's first indoor skating and curling facilities, opening in 1889. It hosted significant events in ice hockey history, including the first recorded women's ice hockey game and the inaugural Ontario men's ice hockey championship. The rink featured separate surfaces for skating and curling and was a hub for social skating events in the late 19th century. Although it was eventually demolished to make way for the University of Ottawa's Fine Arts Building, its legacy continues through the Rideau Curling Club, which still operates today.
