Robert Cleveland Log House

The Robert Cleveland Log House, a historic home located at the Wilkes Heritage Museum in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, dates back to around 1780. Originally situated near Purlear, it was moved to its current location in 1986. This large two-pen log dwelling features distinctive exterior end stone chimneys and an uncoursed stone basement. Built by Revolutionary War veteran Captain Robert Cleveland, the house is likely the oldest dwelling in Wilkes County and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
