Craigellachie, Windsor

Craigellachie is a heritage-listed house located in Windsor, Brisbane, built around 1889 by stonemason John Grant as a family home. This single-storeyed residence showcases fine stone detailing and Georgian features, making it a rare example of non-elite architecture from the late 19th century in Queensland. The house has historical significance, having remained in the Grant family until 1974, and has been restored to its original layout. Visitors can appreciate its unique design, including twin gables, a full-length verandah, and original cedar joinery, all contributing to the aesthetic charm of the Lutwyche-Windsor area. Craigellachie was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992, highlighting its cultural and architectural importance.
