William A. Short House

The William A. Short House, located at 317 Biscoe Street in Helena, Arkansas, is a historic 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure built in 1904 for cotton merchant William A. Short and his wife Sally. Known for its elaborate Colonial Revival architecture, the house features a prominent semicircular porch and intricate woodwork inside. After Short's financial decline in the cotton market, the house was sold in 1917. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and now operates as the Edwardian Inn, a charming bed and breakfast, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
