Frederick Douglass National Historic Site (Cedar Hill)

Cedar Hill was purchased by Frederick Douglass in 1877 and served as his home and final residence until his death in 1895. The preserved 19th-century house and grounds overlook the Anacostia River and interpret Douglass's life, family, and abolitionist work. The site is administered and open to the public by the National Park Service as the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site.
