Jakarta City Hall

Jakarta City Hall, the seat of the government for the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, is a historical complex that includes the governor's office, built in the early 19th century, showcasing the Indies Empire style architecture. The site has a rich history, originally serving as the administrative center of Batavia since 1621. Over the years, it has undergone several relocations and expansions, particularly during the Dutch colonial period and after Indonesia's independence. Notably, the complex features modern skyscrapers, including Building G, constructed in 1972 as a model for future developments in Jakarta. Today, the colonial building is open to the public, offering insights into Jakarta's history and culture, along with screenings of Indonesian films on weekends.
