Bartram's Garden - historic riverside botanic garden

Bartram's Garden, established by John Bartram in the 18th century, is widely documented as the oldest surviving botanic garden in North America. The 45-acre site on the Schuylkill River includes the historic Bartram house, extensive plant collections, and restored meadow and woodland habitats. The garden runs community programs, environmental education, and neighborhood events that serve Southwest Philadelphia residents.
