Hiller Building

The Hiller Building, also known as the Schick Apartments, is a historic Federal style row house located in downtown Davenport, Iowa. Built in the mid-19th century, it reflects the city's rapid population growth during that era. Originally constructed in three phases between 1852 and 1859, the building has a rich history, having been owned by notable figures such as builder John Hiller and later the Schick family. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and is considered one of the oldest surviving structures in Davenport. Despite its architectural significance, the building has been vacant since 2015 and was deemed structurally unsafe, leading to its demolition in 2025.
