Portland Japanese Garden

Portland Japanese Garden opened in 1967 in Washington Park and was designed to reflect traditional Japanese garden design principles. The site includes stone lanterns, carved wood elements, carefully placed stones and plantings, and a cultural center that hosts rotating exhibitions of Japanese art and crafts. The garden is operated as a public cultural site and is visited for both its landscape design and its collection of traditional garden artworks.
