Bunker Hill Monument

The Bunker Hill Monument is a 221-foot granite obelisk in Charlestown erected to commemorate the June 17, 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill. Construction of the monument was completed in 1843 using granite quarried in Quincy, Massachusetts. Visitors can climb the monument's 294 interior steps to reach the viewing platform, and the site includes a museum at its base detailing the battle. The monument stands in Monument Square near the Charlestown Navy Yard.
