Shepherd School of Music at Rice University

The Shepherd School of Music was established at Rice University in 1974 as a conservatory-level music school within the university. It operates performance halls such as Stude Concert Hall and presents regular public concerts, operas, and recitals that contribute to Houston's classical-music life. Many of its alumni perform professionally in Houston ensembles and orchestras.
