Greenwich Y.M.C.A.

The Greenwich YMCA, located at 50 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut, is a historic building constructed in 1916 and designed in a Colonial Revival/Georgian Revival style with Beaux Arts elements. Gifted by Mrs. Nathaniel Witherill in memory of her husband, the YMCA features a central rotunda with four-story wings, a gymnasium, and a swimming pool. Its architectural highlights include a dome, octagonal cupola, and Doric columns. Listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1996, it serves as a notable example of early 20th-century community architecture and was originally intended to provide wholesome athletic and housing options.
