Heritance Ahungalla

Heritance Ahungalla, a luxurious five-star hotel in Ahungalla, Sri Lanka, was originally opened as Triton Hotel in 1981, designed by renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. This beachfront resort, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, underwent a significant refurbishment in 2006, rebranding itself as Heritance Ahungalla. The hotel features a unique architectural design that harmonizes with its natural surroundings, including an open-air entrance and an infinity pool. With 152 rooms, two swimming pools, and a fine dining restaurant named Jute, the hotel is a popular destination for both leisure and MICE tourism. Notably, it gained attention in 2012 for offering a $35 million cake, touted as the most expensive in the world. The hotel has also hosted notable guests, including the Latvian president during a state visit.
