Riviera Hotel and Casino (Former Strip Landmark)

The Riviera Hotel and Casino opened on the Las Vegas Strip in April 1955 and operated for about six decades. It closed in May 2015 and its casino and hotel structures were demolished in 2016 to clear the site for redevelopment. The Riviera is frequently mentioned in accounts of the postwar expansion of high-rise resorts on the Strip.
