Musée Mécanique (antique arcade on Pier 45)

Musée Mécanique is a large collection of antique coin-operated mechanical musical instruments, arcade machines, and games housed on Pier 45 at Fisherman's Wharf. The museum is free to enter and many of the machines operate on coins, preserving examples of early automated amusements. Because it sits in an old arcade on the pier among many tourist attractions, visitors sometimes miss the depth and rarity of its collection.
