Florida Theatre (historic downtown performance venue)

The Florida Theatre opened in 1927 as a movie palace and vaudeville house, designed by architect Roy A. Benjamin. After decades of decline it was restored and reopened in 1983 as a performing arts venue. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has hosted numerous touring musical acts as part of Jacksonville's live-music history.
